IoT Based Stormwater Management System

Sinziah Islam, Muhammad Ohee, Shaheena Sultana

Abstract

Stormwater management is the effort to reduce the runoff of rainwater into streets, lawns, and other sites and the purification of stormwater. This IoT-based Stormwater Management System implements sustainable stormwater management to overcome the typical inadequate drainage system. In this system, we have implemented a prototype providing different types of IoT devices. Using the software, these IoT devices have rendered environmental data such as (water level, garbage information, temperature, and humidity updates), etc., and predicted the situation of the environment. Analyzing this data, we get a new dimension to work with an intelligent drainage system that focuses on reducing and recycling runoff water, improved its quality and reusing it. This sustainable technology also helps to maintain natural hydrologic cycles and minimize downstream erosion, flooding, and water pollution.
