Abstract

The proposed system aims to solve one of the problems faced by the visually impaired (VI) population. While walking in a crowded area, conventional technology dictates that he use a cane to detect obstacles around him/her which is inconvenient for the user and the people around. This device enables him (VI) to navigate without using a cane (smart/normal) which is a wearable smart belt that uses obstacle detectors and communicates with an Android application to give auditory instructions
