QoS ORIENTED VERTICAL HANDOFF SCHEME IN WiMAX/WLAN NETWORKS

Abstract

With the increasing demand of wireless services, users expect Quality of Service and performance.  Quality of Service is to provide the level of assurance for the data delivery over the network.  So to provide the best Quality of Service, vertical handoff scheme is used.   The Vertical Handoff management scheme controls the Handoff process.   In this approach, before Handover to the other network, find the Quality of Service value of the available neighbor nodes.  Select the highest Quality of Service value of the neighbor network.  Aim is that, even after switched to the other network also; it will maintain the Quality of Service of the whole network.
