A study on how predictive analytics can be used to identify the number of deaths from confirmed cases during a pandemic

Santosh C J

Abstract

The virus, which originated in a wet market in the Chinese city of Wuhan, quickly spread to practically every country on the planet. Lockdowns, travel prohibitions, social isolation, hand cleanliness, and the use of face masks were crucial in limiting the virus’s spread. However, limiting the virus, which had spread to over 200 countries with a population of over 7 billion people, proved difficult. Large data sets were collected on a daily basis, and data analytics became essential for revealing trends and determining the manner in which the virus propagated. The application of predictive analytics assisted data scientists in identifying future trends in the spread of illnesses from one place to another. It also assisted us in identifying future trends in hospital resource consumption and where emergency medical intervention was required.
