IOT Enabled Remote Sensing Accident Detection and Rescue Management System Using GSM

Prof. Humera D, Anila K, Bhavana U, Kavya A, Kiran Kumar T V

Abstract

Countless individuals lose their lives ev- ery day in car accidents around the world. The main causes of this tragedy are unawareness of impending roadblocks, delay of rescue teams due to uncertain accident scenes aggravating the situation and not gathering insights from the mistakes we have made on our way. Approaches to this issue include antici- pating accidents through smartphones, vehicle ad hoc networks, GPS/GSM-based systems, and machine learning techniques  This accelerometer-based crash detection system is executed by an ATmega328 microcontroller function, with display, accelerometer sensor, WiFi module and alarm. Accident and rescue efforts have been extensively researched, particularly through the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for efficient and rapid response . An Android application has been developed using smartphone sensors to improve accident detection and response. After the incident, the data is quickly transferred to a web server, triggering immediate SMS alerts to the victim and relevant authorities such as the traffic control room, the nearest police station and the ambulance service.
