Automated Anesthesia Control Machine through Advanced Monitoring using IOT

Abstract

In prolonged surgical procedures lasting, for in- stance, 4 to 5 hours, administering anesthesia in a single dose poses risks of overdose or inadequate sedation, leading to critical conditions or unintended awakenings. To address these chal- lenges, an automated anaesthesia machine based on a Raspberry Pi has been developed. This project aims to ensure precise and timely administration of anesthesia by the anesthetist. The system automatically delivers predefined milliliters of anesthesia per hour at regular intervals, synchronized with the patient’s physiological parameters like heart rate and temperature. This innovation mitigates the potential hazards associated with manual administration, enhancing patient safety and the efficiency of the anesthesia process during extended surgical operations.
