Assistive Technologies for People with Visual Impairment in the Nigerian Banking Industry

Abstract

The Nigerian banking industry has improved technology-wise yet still lacking in some ways. The need to make provisions for persons with special needs cannot be overemphasized enough. This article is written to create awareness about the lack of assistive devices for persons with visual impairment in the Nigerian banking industry. It explains the meaning and definition of visual impairment, types and causes of visual impairment. This article elucidates on the definition of assistive technologies and devices, types and uses and further explains how they can be implemented into the banking system for the benefits of persons with visual impairment.
