Aishwarya Patil, C. G. Balasubramanyam Singh, Madhushree ., Pradeep S

Abstract

Accurate monitoring of calorie intake is essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and preventing nutrition-related disorders. Conventional calorie tracking systems rely heavily on manual food logging, which is time-consuming and often inaccurate, particularly for mixed and homemade meals. This paper presents an AI-based food calorie estimation system using the Google Gemini multimodal API. The proposed system enables users touploadfoodimagesthroughasimplewebinterface andreceive real-time calorie andnutritional analysis. By leveraging advanced image understanding and generative AI, the system reduces manual effort, improves usability, and supports informed dietary decisions.
