

Forensic Sketch Recognition using Image Processing
Abstract
Automatic retrieval of facial images from police mug-shots is critical for law enforcement. It will effectively facilitate investigators to search out or slender down potential suspects. Face sketch recognition identifies the face picture from an outsized face sketch dataset. In this paper, we discussed two methods of face sketch recognition. The first one involves feature extraction using feature descriptors such as HOG and GLCM. The result obtained from both descriptors is concatenated and is matched to the photo using Euclidean distance and Mean Square Error Method. The latter involves the use of 2D-DCT and Self-organ.
