Smart Garbage Monitoring

Rutuja Shewale

Abstract

Due to the limited number of bins that are shared by all residents, piles of trash are one of the primary issues that most people in Malaysia face, particularly those who live in apartments. It might pollute, which could cause health problems and diseases. This project shows how to make a smart garbage monitoring system that can sometimes send an SMS alert to the municipality and measure the amount of waste in the garbage can in real time. The proposed system contains of GSM module that sends SMS, to measure waste level an ultrasonic sensor, and to control system operation an Arduino Uno. To be picked up the garbage can right away the trash can is supposed to generate and send SMS notifications to the municipality when it is full or nearly full. Additionally, it is anticipated that it will boost the effectiveness of solid waste management.
