Implementation and Design of a Motion-Based Video Clipping Algorithm for Surveillance Video Stream Monitoring

Prabhavathi .

Abstract

The Internet of Things is nothing more than the transfer or exchange of anything with several other things—communication primarily consists of the transfer of whatever or the exchange of data. There will be nearly one billion internet-enabled devices or systems in use by 2020, according to estimates. The project's objective is to develop a low-power, Internet of Things-based safekeeping and alert device that can detect motion and gestures and send images to a cloud server when they occur. In addition, the internet of things can be used in a limited way to watch what's going on and get a heads-up when there are signs or gestures. The images are shown directly to a cloud attendant; if the cloud attendant is unavailable, the data are stored nearby on a Raspberry Pi. Using a Wi-Fi module, a credit card-sized Raspberry Pi with Open Source Computer Vision (Open-CV) software controls the image processing and attention algorithms and sends the taken images to email addresses. The system employs a standard webcam.
