Abstract

As the population of the modern cities is increasing day by day the growth of vehicular transport is also increased which causes the problem of traffic congestion. Therefore, a smart traffic control system is required to manage traffic very effectively based on vehicle density. This paper looks at some of the problems with the current traffic light control system and how image processing can fix them. At the same time, traffic management is based on the number of vehicles at the signal junction. In addition, the implementation of a real-time emergency vehicle detection system is proposed in this paper. When an emergency vehicle is observed, one lane takes precedence over all others.
