Smart Digital Platform to promote Eco & Cultural Tourism in Jharkhand

Jayanth T S, Prajwal S, Pavan Kulkarni, Dr. Deepak N R

Abstract

Jharkhand is endowed with rich biodiversity, tribal cultures, waterfalls, forests, and heritage sites that remain under-promoted and unevenly developed. This paper proposes the design and evaluation of a smart digital platform to promote eco and cultural tourism in Jharkhand.

The platform integrates geospatial mapping, mobile and web portals, local community participation, AR/VR storytelling, ticketing and e-commerce for handicrafts, sustainability monitoring dashboards, and AI- driven personalized recommendations. We review background terminology, existing literature, current trends and challenges unique to Jharkhand, propose evaluation metrics and benchmarks, and present applications and use- cases. Finally, future directions, limitations, and policy recommendations are discussed. The proposed platform aims to improve tourist experience, increase local incomes sustainably, and preserve cultural and ecological assets.
