Abstract

A swing check valve is similar to butterfly style check valve. It allows flow in one direction and automatically prevents the back flow when fluid in the line reverses direction. It is one of the self-automated valves that do not require assistance to opening and closing. It is a traditional valve and due to its self operation, it is very hard to predict the clapper position. In this paper, by the use of hall effect sensor, the clapper position is predicted and the major defect due to chattering of the check valve was identified. By use of hall effect sensor, chattering is verified and the clapper position is also found out by programming in C. The corresponding 100 percentage opening time of the valve is calculated. This whole operation is controlled by  arduino uno micro controller
