Abstract

This Paper deals  with mechanical investigation and formulation of Magnesium alloy (AZ31) and Calcium oxide (CaO) are metal matrix composites (MMCs). Magnesium alloy is the metal matrix which have great strength to weight ratio, low density, less CO2 emission, bio degradable and have grater properties of mechanics. The Calcium Oxide (CaO) has excellent hard ness and Tensile strength which are added as reinforcement and it has excellent reduction of flammability. Here, the formulation of die casting is done by mixing additives into molten magnesium in required quantities. Then after solidification, the prepared samples are been tested to verify the various properties of mechanics such as tensile strength, compressive strength and hardness. The internal microstructure of the formulated composite is observed by using the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The particular distribution is observed with XRD
