Abstract

Pneumatics is a cost-effective medium utilized to achieve a smooth surface finish. It is a branch of technology that employs air as the primary medium for various lightweight cutting operations. One of the advantages of using pneumatic systems is that they operate as open loop systems, which minimizes adverse impacts. The pneumatic pressure is supplied from a compressed tank to the cylinder, where a hacksaw is attached at the other end. Compressed air enables the pneumatic cylinder to generate the necessary mechanical motion for the back-and-forth cutting operation. Due to the use of compressed air, this system avoids vibration and shock.
