Abstract

Renewable energy is must to accomplish the necessity of electricity in future, wind is solutions but have certain intricacy while extracting energy. The properly designed wind turbine will generate electricity at rated wind speed. The wind speed is not constant in all regions because of which wind turbine is not able to generate required power. Contemporary wind turbine usually consists of 3 blades which have moderate effectiveness, less solidity so, require more cut-in speed. In order to reduce cut in speed, solidity of rotor has to be improved. It can be improved by adding number of blades; this eventually reduces the cut in speed which boost up the generation of electricity at low wind speed. This paper represents the analysis and design of 4 blade micro wind turbine and explains the parameters like chord length, twist angle, axial induction factor which have an effect on cut in speed.
