LostFound: A Community-Based Lost and Found Platform

Vishal Jadhav, Nikita Gajul

Abstract

Lost and Found is a web-based platform that allows users to report and search for lost or found items within their community or institution. Built using PHP and MySQL, the system includes modules for user registration, login, item posting, and item search with categories and status filters. This application aims to reduce the time and effort required to find lost belongings and increase the chances of item recovery by providing a centralized and accessible solution. Users can post details of lost/found items and mark items as returned when resolved. Future scope includes notification alerts, image-based item matching, and mobile app integration.
