Hybrid PV/Wind/Fuel-Cell grid connected With BESS

Abstract


This paper insinuates a simplified control framework for a grid-connected hybrid energy system integrating photovoltaic (PV), wind, and fuel cell sources without employing a dedicated PV converter. The architecture leverages a reduced number of converters and control loops to improve cost-efficiency and system reliability. Battery energy storage and an electrolyzer-fuel cell pair are coordinated to handle power intermittency and ensure stable DC-link voltage. The Grid Side Controller (GSC) regulates power flow, maximizes PV utilization, and maintains grid support functions. Results of simulation using Simulink validate the effectiveness of the proposed system in reducing power fluctuations and enhancing operational continuity compared to conventional hybrid systems.
