Optimal Power Flow with Facts: TCSCs and Case Studies

Abhinanda Sutradhar, Toshi Mandloi

Abstract

Optimal power flow with multiple and multi-type FACTS devices has been performed to minimize generation cost and /or total transmission losses. The proposed model for OPF with FACTS devices has been validated with different test cases such as IEEE 30-bus system. The solutions of OPF with different and multi-type FACTS gadgets have been introduced exhaustively for IEEE 30- bus system.

Keywords: TCSC, generation cost, IEEE-30 bus system
