Smart Grid Automation, Techniques and Tools

Aditi Gupta, Garima Verma, Harish Kumar Maheshwari

Abstract

In present scenario energy management is a hard task because of industrial generalization and dynamic load. Hence the present electric grid undergoes a fundamental change with the introduction of smart grid. The smart grid aims on raising efficiencies of operators and enable better and faster decisions and reducing operational cost. SCADA systems become more integrated and connected with existing systems to provide consumers with new information, technologies and tools. This paper deals with different techniques to resolve the supply-demand gap problem. Our main focus is to provide control and use of meters, devices, fault analyzer and other facilities.

Keywords: Smart grid technologies, challenges and standards, SCADA systems, quality of services
