Analytical Investigation of Concrete Beam added with Nano-Silica

Harini P, Dr G Arunkumar

Abstract

In the early stages, the R&D department has undergone a lot of barriers in finding new materials in the construction field. As the pros and cons of introducing a new material in construction were found by creating a prototype and analyzing the prototype manually. Also, the number of prototypes with different combinations of analysis needs to be done to know the behavior of the prototype. Also, wastage of materials, risk factor, cost, and time consumption is high. To reduce these barriers, the R&D department has found new technologies to analyze the component or structure easily and quickly using the software application and not by making any prototype. In this paper, the square beam of c/s is modeled and analyzed in the ANSYS software application. Introducing Nano-Particles as the partial replacement of cementitious material enhances the property of the construction materials which in turn makes the structure resist more deflection. Here both conventional concrete and partial replacement of Nano-Silica with cement are analyzed and compared to prove that Nano-Silica would enhance the material property.
