An Experimental Analysis on Ferrocement,Widely Used in Lighter, Low Cost Housing, and Insulation Projects

Km. Ravikala Gautam, Shakti Kumar

Abstract

Ferrocement has been proved as a reliable, cheap firming component for reinforced concrete structures in constructions areas. Ferrocement technology has most probably shown to be both environmental friendly and cost effective. Ferrocement is a widely used in lighter, low cost housing, and insulation projects. Ferrocement as the name implies a material made from steel and cement. One of best building materials for a roofing system is Ferrocement. either in situ casting or precast form. A Ferrocement portion can be employed as a fire-resistant unit, a plate, a walling unit, or both. Although several tests on the strength (compressive) using various ferrocement specimens have been conducted, this approach emphasises the compressive behaviour of ferro-cement concrete.
