A Review of the Study and Development of Embankment Filling Coal Bottom Ash

Amar Trivedi, Surbhi Gupta

Abstract

The current investigation was based on the compaction properties of Bottom ash. Because bottom ash is one of the byproducts of coal combustion that accumulates at the furnace's bottom in a coal-fired thermal power plant, which is the primary source of coal ashes. The dry density of the bottom ash is affected by a number of factors, including :layer thickness, mold area, moisture content, compaction energy, and specific gravity .It is important to study the various characteristics of by comparing the variation in the optimal moisture content and maximum dry density of bottom ash collected from three distinct locations using standard proctor compaction energy. The study will look at how the aforementioned variables change the dry density of bottom ash. An empirical model will be developed to determine the compaction energy, specific gravity, and moisture content of the dry density of bottom ash based on these elements. Engineers might be able to use this model to estimate the MDD and OMC of bottom ash in the field and control the compaction in the field.
