Dalia Adil Rasool, Ismail Ibrahim Marhoon, Mohammad Ali Abdulrehman

Abstract

There are various classifications of concrete cracks that usually found in the site such as Plastic shrinkage crack, Plastic settlement crack and drying shrinkage crack these reduce strength of concrete, to avoid these problems the properties of concrete must be improved with incorporation of modifiers. The using of polymer material in a mixture of concrete provides enhanced performance in service. One of these material is the Epoxy resin which are mainly composed of styrene butadiene rubber and its used to improve the concrete properties and service life of its, also decreasing the effect of the environment  .In this study includes adding five percentages (0 ,5,7 ,9 ,10 )% of epoxy (S.B.R.) to the concrete mix In this paper  the (compressive , flexural strength and slump tests) of the concretes mixtures were specified and comparing their results with the conventional concrete results . The results indicate that modifier (epoxy) is a good modifier.
