Synergizing Sustainability and Strength: Evaluating Performance in Composite Fibre-Reinforced Recycled Aggregate Concrete – A Comprehensive Study

B. Saisunil, Dr. B. Narendra kumar

Abstract

Recycled waste from construction and renovation is used as aggregate in different construction applications. To create aggregates with particular qualities for particular construction uses, the procedure entails gathering, classifying, and processing these materials. India is replacing natural aggregates in construction projects with recycled aggregate (RAC) to address environmental concerns and encourage sustainable solutions in the quickly urbanising construction sector. Despite not being as strong as ordinary concrete, RAC concrete can be strengthened by adding various fibres, such as steel, basalt, polypropylene, and glass fibres. This review study focuses on advancing the use of innovative building techniques and strengthening concrete by utilising fibres in concrete with recycled aggregates. The study also provides a concise overview of the characteristics of concrete that is created by incorporating fibres, which influences different material strengths and results in hardened concrete with fibre properties that are examined.
