Proposal of a Cost-benefit Analysis Model for Modular Residential Buildings

Jessy Felix, Sahimol Eldhose

Abstract

The construction industry at present is facing a huge setback regarding sustainable development. The major factor that holds a setback to the idea of sustainability is economical factors. Cost-benefit analysis is a standard method that can be used to identify the economic benefits related to a construction project during the planning stage itself which will enable to check the feasibility of the project. Cost-benefit analysis uses Net present value, benefit-cost ratio, Internal rate of return (IRR), Payback period (PBP) as the tools for checking the feasibility.
