Abstract

THE CONECTORS represent the bridges i.e. means of physical connectivity which is used to connect one edge to another edge of the earth for humanitarian mobility, trade, transport, communication, etc. This is a research paper on how the elements of nature has turned up to be an efficient solution provider in remote areas for this effective way of communication known as ‘Bridges’. This paper focuses on logic, Science and material used in constructing of this everlasting bridge. It has also enlightened the values and fruitful results of social activities, humanitarian activities and how a simple thought of people has made a beautiful and effective creation. This is an attempt to reveal the logical story of a ‘ZERO-cost bridge’ at an extreme situation like Meghalaya, uplands. It is amazing to know that the living root bridges are capable to hold 680-750 Kilo Grams of load at a time, having a span of 17m. The bridge is being constructed at a high altitude where there is barely enough space for walking and no high end construction material could be imported.
