Strength Development of High Strength Concrete using Rice Husk Ash

Abstract


With a high water to cement ratio and poor workability, traditional concrete is one type of uneconomical concrete that is challenging to install and prone to issues like honeycomb and bleeding. Concretes with great workability and durability, including self-compacting concrete (SCC), have recently been created and used to address these issues. Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) is a unique variety of concrete that has excellent self-compacting abilities and can fill formwork and spaces between reinforcing bars with its own weight without the need of vibrating compaction. To create self-compacting concrete, a variety of components are employed, including rice husk ash, metakaolin, silica fume, and steatite powder. To obtain high strength and lower the amount of cement in the concrete, this substance is most frequently substituted for cement in the market. The current study focuses on using rice husk ash powder in high strength concrete at various percentages. The impact of rice husk powder on the characteristics of high strength concrete with various cement percentages by weight was investigated via a number of trials.
