Effect of Recycled Concrete Aggregate Replacement Ratio on the Compressive Strength of M60 Grade Concrete

Deepika Patel, Harsh Rathore

Abstract

The compressive strength of M60 Grade Concrete incorporating Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA) at varying replacement ratios was investigated in this study. Two sets of data were analyzed: the first set presents compressive strength values after 7 and 28 days of curing for replacement ratios ranging from 0% to 100%, while the second set provides compressive strength values for different curing durations (28, 56, and 90 days) for specific RAC types. The findings reveal a clear trend of decreasing compressive strength as the RCA replacement ratio increases, with a significant drop beyond a 50% replacement ratio. This highlights the challenges associated with achieving desired compressive strength while using higher percentages of recycled aggregates. The study underscores the importance of carefully selecting the RCA replacement ratio in M60 Grade Concrete mixes to balance sustainability goals with structural performance requirements. The suggested title for this research paper is "Impact of RCA Replacement Ratio on Compressive Strength of M60 Grade Concrete.
