Comparative Analysis of Measured and Simulated Performance of Printed Excited Rectangular Log Periodic Array Patch

Abstract


This paper described the design, simulation, construction using iron on glossy method and comparative analysis of simulated and measured parameters of inset feed seven elements log periodic microstrip antenna at 2.5-3.5 GHz with the aide of Agilent (ADS2009 and TinyCad).The antennas were modeled using microstrip lines printed and etched using TinyCad software the simulated S, 3D and measured parameters were obtained by connecting to signal analyzer were compared. The data was extracted from the momentum simulation. The assets of the antennas such as return damage, gain, and efficacy, power emitted cross polarization and the beam width have been examined and related with each other. A gain of 3.47dB gain of 2.8dB for rectangular, directivity of 7.06 dB efficiency of 1.038% and resonant frequency of 3.35GHz respectively.
