Abstract

In mobile cellular communication system, different techniques are used to provide efficient way to improve error also power density and spectrum efficiently. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is used in 4G and then Frequency Division Multiple access (FBMC) is used in 5G. To determine the best technique performance study is needed. Comparison OFDM and FBMC feature, error calculation efficiency is obtained to choose best technique. The power density and Bit Error Rate (BER) is main elements to determine the technique is suitable low cost and spectrum efficient. As FBMC is give better performance for fulfill the criteria so in 5G communication system going through with FBMC technology.

Keywords: Bit error rate (BER), frequency division multiple access (FBMC), orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), open wireless architecture (OWA), power spectral density
