Abstract

Industrial Monitoring System is also named as smart Industry. It involves the control and automation of lighting, heating, ventilation, Air conditioning and security. Wi-Fi is often used for remote monitoring and control. Industrial devices, when remotely monitored and controlled via internet is a part of internet of Things. Modern systems usually comprise of switches and sensors associated to a central hub named a gateway by which the system is controlled with a user interface that is interacted either with a mobile Phone software, tablet, computers or a web interface, often but not always via internet cloud services. Worlds demand for electricity had Grown 85% between 2010 and 2017. Unlike most of available Industrial Monitoring system in the market the proposed system is scalable that one server can manage many hardware interface modules as long as it exists on Wi-Fi network coverage. System supports a wide range of devices like power management components and Security components. Industrial Monitoring system achieved great popularity in the last decades and it increases the comfort and quality of life. In this paper an overview of current and emerging industrial monitoring systems is discussed. Nowadays most Industrial Monitoring systems consist of a smartphone and microcontroller. A smart phone application is used to control and monitor the Industrial appliances using different type of communication techniques. In this paper the working principle of different type of wireless communication techniques such as ZigBee, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EnOcean and GSM are studied and their features are compared with each other so the users can choose their own choice of technology to build Industrial Monitoring system.
