Development of an Authorised Car Parking System
Abstract
With technology getting better, we need more and more security and authority. That's why we made a system that only lets cars park in a parking lot if they have a radio frequency identification system (RFID). Here, each car will have an authorised RFID card, and there will be a reader in front of the gate that reads the card and sends a signal to an Arduino Uno microcontroller. The RFID of each approved car will be added to our Arduino database. We made each parking spot with an ultrasonic sensor that sends a signal to Arduino if the spot is taken or free. If the spot is free, Arduino will send a signal to open the gate if the RFID of the car matches the RFID in Arduino's database. We have also set up a 16x2 LCD display in front of the gate to show the status of parking and any other important information. The gate will be opened and closed by a servo motor. We have built IoT into our project using raspberry pi. We'll find out whether the car is parked or not on an HTML page that's meant to let us know the status of parking while we're away from the place in question.
