A Beginner-Friendly Li-Fi Communication Prototype Using Arduino
Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of a low-cost, beginner-friendly Li-Fi communication system using Arduino microcontrollers. The prototype demonstrates data transmission through visible light, employing an LED as the transmitter and a photodiode as the receiver. The system encodes text into binary signals, modulates the LED to transmit data, and decodes the received signals into readable text. Experimental results indicate successful data transfer over short distances in a controlled environment, highlighting the potential of Li-Fi technology for affordable, short-range communication systems. The project serves as an educational tool to introduce students and hobbyists to the fundamentals of optical wireless communication.
