Smart Home Automation & Security with Arduino

Rakesh Gautam

Abstract

Home automation & security system is needed for occupants’ comfort, convenience and safety. This research aims to design a low cost, adaptable and multifunctional Home Automation & Security system which added the power saving features. The main focus of this work is to reduce the power consumption and providing sophisticated home automation & security. The unnecessary usage of home appliances can be reduced and the optimization of power can be done by AC power control. On the other hand security in hands is facilitated by making use of GSM/GPRS. The flexibility is also available to increase number of sensor nodes.

Keywords - Home automation, home security, AC power control, global system for mobile communication (GSM), Arduino Mega2560.
