Brain Computer Interfaces Based System for Motor Disabled Patients

S. Karthik

Abstract

People with severe motor disabilities have difficulty in mobility and they face problem to communicate with the environment. The eventual objective of this idea is to help people with severe motor disabilities like locked-in syndrome to have control over their mobility and other devices. Brain-computer-interface (BCI) is a recent technology that allows the power of the mind to overcome the limitations of the body. A brain-computer interface (BCI), is a system that allows human brain to communicate with external devices. This Brain Computer Interface (BCI) is a system involving an Electroencephalograph (EEG) to sense electronic signals from differential electrode pairs on the frontal cortex of the brain (the forehead). For this purpose, there are invasive and non-invasive types of EEG sensors.
