Design and Implementation of a Solar-Powered Grass Cutter using IOT

Abstract


This paper presents the Design and Implementation of solar-powered grass cutter integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system offers dual control modes: automatic and manual. In the automatic mode, obstacle avoidance is achieved using an ultrasonic sensor, while the main controlling unit, a NodeMCU microcontroller, orchestrates the operation of the grass cutter. A motor driver is utilized for controlling the wheels of the robot, and a relay module is employed for activating the cutter motor. The entire system is powered by a 12V battery charged via a solar panel, ensuring sustainability and prolonged operation. In the manual mode, control is facilitated through a Blynk mobile application, providing users with a user-friendly dashboard interface for remote operation. This project demonstrates an innovative approach to lawn and sports ground maintenance, leveraging renewable energy and IoT technology for efficient and environmentally friendly grass cutting.
