Analysis and Design of Residential Building (G+3) Using STAAD Pro Software

Atul Srivastava

Abstract

The main aspect of structural engineer is to design of structure. In structural engineering the basic is design of component and members of building. The first step in any type of design is to draw the plan of particular building. The position of beam and columns are decided and then located. Then the dead and live loads are calculated. Once the loads are obtained, the structural part which takes the load first i.e. the slab can be designed. The loads are transferred through column the beam, columns and footing and then transmitted to the soil.

The principle objective is to carry out a study of a multi-storeyed structure (G+3) with the help of STAAD Pro software. Its analysis and design is carried out by a Computer software’s for the calculation of forces, bending moment, stress, strain & deformation or deflection. Results were obtained and are discuss and accordingly since structure is irregular in design therefore the effect of wind is also considered.
