Behaviour of Cast Iron Slag and Cupola Slag in Concrete as Partial Replacement with Fine and Coarse Aggregates

Abstract


Compressive strength test conducted on cast iron slag and cupola slag as partial replacement with combination of fine and coarse aggregates. Requirements of fine and coarse aggregate is more in constructions and availability is less so need to search a replacing material like cast iron slag which is form dusts on furnace during cast iron melting process and cupola slag which is by-product of cast iron manufacturing. The disposal of cast iron slag and cupola slag in open area to cause the environmental pollution, it can be recycled for use in construction industry without producing harm to human and environment. The design mix M25 grades concrete were arrived. Cast iron slag and cupola slag was used in concrete as partial replacements for fine and coarse aggregates (0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%) to applicable in concrete.
