EFFECT OF NATURAL FIBER ASH AND LIME IN SOIL STABILIZATION

Abstract

Stabilization of soil plays an important role in the field of geotechnical engineering. Due to the development of construction industry, more number of buildings is constructed as multi-storey building. The soil condition below the ground is not up to the level in terms of load carrying capacity. Different stabilization methods are available from ancient days. But still the effectiveness of older methods is questionable. So, many research works are still undergoing in the field of geotechnical engineering to search a better stabilization material. This work utilizes a natural fiber and lime for stabilization. Coir fiber ash and lime in combination was used as stabilizing agent in soil. The objective of this work is to find out the benefits, properties and applications of this new combination stabilizing materials with soil.
