Abstract

Newborns have unique and complex physiologies because they change over the period of minutes, hours, days, and months. After reaching maturity, a person's physiology remains constant and predictable; any deviation raises the possibility of disease and sickness. Whatever it is, the physiology of a baby reacts quickly and constantly to the environment outside the womb. This page explains the important physiology related to the newborn era so that readers may better understand the complexities of this stage of life.
