Thermo-Rheological Effect On Rotating Fluid Layer Under Gravity Modulation

SH. Manjula, Palle Kiran

Abstract

In this paper, we investigated the thermo-rheological effect of weakly nonlinear thermal convection in a rotating fluid layer subjected to gravity modulation. The gravity field consists of a steady and time-dependent periodic part. Using power series expansion in terms of the amplitude of gravity modulation, which is assumed to be small, the problem has been reduced to the nonautonomous Ginzburg-Landau amplitude equation. The effect of gravity modulation on heat transport has been investigated in terms of the Nusselt number. Further, the effects of various parameters on heat transport have been analyzed and depicted graphically. The gravity modulation can be used effectively to control the convection in the system. It is found that the effect of the thermo-rheological parameter is to destabilize the system, thus enhancing the heat transport in the system.
