Quality of Instruction and Research at Nigerian Public Polytechnics: Evidence from Nigeria's Northeast
Abstract
In the context of federal polytechnics in North-Eastern Nigeria, the topic of this paper was the connection between lecturers' research and teaching performance. A total of 320 lecturers and 600 students from the polytechnics were selected using a straightforward random sampling strategy. The percentage, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and t-test were utilized in this study's analysis. According to our findings, there is no correlation at all between being an active researcher and being a qualitative teacher. In order to fulfill the mission of tertiary institutions and meet societal and industry expectations, we also suggest that the institution hire knowledgeable researchers and enthusiastic teachers.
