Weighted Harmonic Mean Technique for Finding Real Root of Non-linear Equations

Abstract

In this paper, a new technique is presented for finding a real root of non-linear equations. The new technique is a combination of Newton-Raphson method and weighted harmonic mean method. The weights used in the iteration formula are taken from the Taylor’s series expansion.  Some numerical examples are performed to compare the efficiency of proposed method with the existing methods. The new technique gives better results than the other existing methods with the less iteration.
