Abstract

'IoT based self-servicing Ordering system' is created with an objective to achieve a contact less in- house service. The concept revolves around serving dishes through a conveyor belt using IoT sensors such as proximity sensor. Our paper takes inspiration from the Japanese invention 'kaitan sushi'. The customer would initially order their desired dish through a tab, provided by the restaurant itself. After the customer place their order, it would be forwarded to the chef's device. The chef would then prepare the entree. The assembly consists of a conveyor belt, through which the customer's dish would be served once ready. Once the dish is ready the customer would get a notification on their tab of their incoming dish. The dish would be placed on a tray, through which an inbuilt proximity sensor is fixed. The sensor, which can later be improvised by using a color sensor for detecting unique tables, would then spot a table and stop the conveyor belt. The belt would stop with respect to an inbuilt timer, and customers can take and enjoy their dish. Once the customer has finished their meal, they can put the plates onto the conveyor belt and get it sent back to the kitchen.
