Herbal Medicines: Usage, Safety and Efficacy

Alisha Ann James, U. Srinivasa

Abstract

The active compounds in herbal medications are derived from plant parts like leaves, roots, or flowers.

Herbal medications will have an impact on the body in the same way that conventional medications do.

Therefore, it ought to be administered with the same caution and respect as traditional medications.

Before seeking medical counsel from a doctor or pharmacist or before having surgery, always let them know if you're using any herbal remedies.

The study's primary goal and objective was to look at the effectiveness, safety, and use of herbal medicines. Cultural rootedness long-term and widespread adoption in a Traditional Medical System may indicate safety, but not necessarily efficacy of treatments, especially in medicinal products, where custom relies mainly on treatments containing active elements at very low and ultra-low concentrations, or depending on magical-energetic principles.
