Abstract

Since the Vedic era, medicinal herbs have been utilized. They have been used for many years to treat and prevent many diseases. The Bauhinia racemosa Lam is a member of the family Caesalpiniaceae. This tree, which is small and gnarly with dangling branches, is found throughout India and reaches a height of 1,650 meters in the western Himalayas. This review aims to comprehend the therapeutic potential of Bauhinia racemosa by combining traditional and medical knowledge with current scientific results. Within the Bauhinia Genus there are more than two hundred species of blooming plants; one of them is racemosa. It goes by the name “sonpatta tree” because of its gold-like therapeutic properties, nearly every single part of the plant.
