A case study of the oscillating paddle bicycle

Vinay Prashar

Abstract

In transportation, a bicycle is utilized for extremely long distances. It is a type of vehicle with two wheels that is driven by a rider. It is a low-cost and environmentally friendly mode of transportation. There are numerous drawbacks to the current cycle mechanism. The current bicycle mechanism's lower efficiency is one of its major issues. So, riding a bicycle takes a lot of time. Nowadays, the majority of people use locomotives, which have a significant impact on our environment because cars emit harmful gases.

In this research paper, we attempted to triple the gear ratio to that of a conventional bicycle by adding an additional chain sprocket because compound chain sprockets improve bicycle efficiency. The fact that we are forcing the paddles to oscillate, resulting in the bicycle's motion, is what makes this paper unique.
