The Management of Waste in Tumakuru City: A Study and Analysis

Priyanka Gupta

Abstract

The worldwide problem of garbage disposal has recently grown in importance. Methods that harm the environment are used to dispose of a lot of the waste that is produced. The most common method of disposing of the waste is open dumping at landfills. This method is bad for people's health, plants, and livestock. This hazardous waste disposal system has the potential to spread diseases because it can pollute groundwater and soil. The sorted waste has a greater capacity for recycling and is processed and utilized in accordance with its basic forms—wet, dry, and metallic. Methane gas or manure are frequently produced from wet waste, or both. Biogas can be used as a power source and reduce the need for synthetic fertilizers through the use of manure. The benefits include achieving a higher standard of recycled content, which increases the value of the waste. The use of sorting machines reduces the need for human intervention, and separate wastes can also be sent directly to the recycling and processing plant.
